Driving
If you
are intending to drive overseas before you leave home you should apply for an International Driver's Licence from your local motorist organisation. Also request a no claims letter from your car insurance company before you leave to assist with car insurance.
Photocopy all documentation
Make sure
that you take copies of all documentation including passport, visa, flight tickets, insurance documents and credit cards. Keep a copy safe with someone at home as well as yourself in case of emergencies.
Travel insurance
Please
ensure you have appropriate travel insurance which will cover you for worldwide travel and work overseas.
Bank account
It is advisable to open a bank account in the country where
you will work when you arrive. Your school will be able to give you further information how to do this.
Medical
Please
check out any vaccinations that are required for the country where you plan to work.
Passport and visa
Please make sure you have a current valid passport. If your passport will expire whilst overseas please check out arrangements to renew and ensure that there is a relevant Foreign Office of your home country in your planned country of work.
